Hi, I have been working in cloud as a Site Reliability Engineer for a startup named Tamr Inc., almost 4 years now. My cloud origin story began when I took an advanced cloud class in my Masters very early on, I don't think I even had the pre-req completed to take this course but somehow the instructor agreed and I never looked back from that day. Recently, I working on GitOps to develop an internal CD tool so as to reduce our CD expense. So FluxCD and Flagger is something that we POC'ed on and it worked out eventually in the end. Fortunately I've had the opportunity to work in production from the very beginning as I in fact was involved in building the first production environment in my work-place when they were transitioning from on-prem to a SaaS platform. Hence I think I've good experience and confidence in dealing with production related stuff, knowing things in and out from the scratch really helped. To summarize myself, I would say I am an individual who believes in volunteering in exploring new tools/technologies, someone who's has constantly recognized issues in the platforms/infrastructure and has taken charge to resolve them to prevent them breaking production environments in the future. I am also someone who believes in automating toil and routine tasks, and this is one quality I've learned when I joined as an SRE for the first time, to reduce manual work and use the best practices to do so. Leave no room for tech debt and document as much as you can.
