While pursuing my BSc in Electronic & Telecommunication Engineering, I realized that my true interest lay in the seamless integration of development and operations to enhance efficiency and deliver high-quality software solutions. This led me to specialize in DevOps during my professional career. --- Recent Accomplishments In my current role at MyBudget Holdings Sri Lanka, I have made significant strides in optimizing our cloud infrastructure. One of my proudest accomplishments was implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Ansible, which improved our efficiency by 60%. I also designed and deployed a custom Kubernetes cluster information API service using Go, which streamlined our cluster management processes. --- New Learnings in DevOps The DevOps field is ever-evolving, and continuous learning is crucial. Recently, I delved into the intricacies of deploying secure webhook applications using NodeJS to communicate with Google IAP-enabled services in GKE. This project not only enhanced our system's security but also broadened my expertise in integrating security measures with DevOps practices. --- Passion for DevOps What excites me most about DevOps is the opportunity to bridge the gap between development and operations, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. I am particularly passionate about automating repetitive tasks to free up time for more strategic initiatives, which ultimately drives innovation and efficiency within teams. --- Unique Skills and Contributions My unique skill set includes a strong proficiency in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools like CircleCI, ArgoCD, and Azure DevOps. I have successfully reduced deployment times by up to 50% through these pipelines. Additionally, my experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform has enabled me to build and manage scalable, resilient infrastructure that meets the demands of modern software development. --- Why I'm Awesome What sets me apart as a DevOps engineer is my relentless pursuit of excellence and my ability to adapt to new technologies quickly.
