As a DevOps engineer, my journey began with a deep passion for technology and cybersecurity. After earning my Associate of Applied Science in Cybersecurity from the College of Southern Maryland, where I also served as the Treasurer for the Women in Cybersecurity chapter, I continued to enhance my skills and knowledge in this dynamic field. Currently, I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity Technology from the University of Maryland Global Campus, expected to complete in November 2025. My career in DevOps truly took off when I joined Arete Incident Response. Initially working as a Client Data Intake Technician, I quickly demonstrated my capability in digital forensic data acquisition and coordination, which laid a solid foundation for my transition to a DevOps Engineer role. At Arete, I have successfully deployed Azure infrastructure using Azure Bicep, Azure CLI, and PowerShell, managing everything from AKS clusters to SQL databases and virtual machines. My hands-on experience with these technologies has ensured efficient and reliable infrastructure for our projects. One of my significant accomplishments includes configuring and managing Azure pipelines via Azure DevOps. By implementing CI/CD workflows, I automated the deployment of containerized applications across QA, development, and production environments, ensuring smooth and consistent delivery. Additionally, my expertise in managing Kubernetes cluster containers has allowed me to optimize application performance, implement effective monitoring with Prometheus and Grafana, and ensure scalability. I am particularly proud of my ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues, such as 500 server errors. Utilizing tools like Splunk and Fluent Bit, I enhanced our monitoring capabilities and ensured system reliability. This proactive approach to problem-solving is something I am passionate about and believe sets me apart in the DevOps field. Furthermore, my role involved administering Django admin pages, where I implemented secret and token management and integrated Microsoft Graph API for secure authentication and data integration. This not only enhanced application security but also improved functionality, showcasing my dedication to both security and innovation. My unique blend of skills in cloud platforms like Azure, containerization with Kubernetes and Docker, and infrastructure as code tools like Terraform and Azure Bicep, combined with my scripting abilities in Python, YAML, and PowerShell, make me a versatile and valuable asset to any DevOps team. My commitment to continuous learning and applying new technologies, coupled with my hands-on experience, positions me to contribute effectively and drive success in any organization. I am excited about the future of DevOps and am eager to bring my expertise, passion, and unique skill set to new challenges and opportunities. Whether it's deploying robust infrastructure, automating workflows, or ensuring system reliability, I am ready to make a significant impact.
