Working as an Intern DevOps Engineer my task were: 1.] Assiting in Infrastructure Provisioning — working with senior engineers to provision infrastructure components (servers, networks, storage) within a datacenter/cloud utilizing automation tools (Terraform/Cloud Formation). 2.] Support CI/CD Pipeline: Contribute in creating CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, deploy activities using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD 3.] Containerization and Orchestration: Running you through containerizing applications with Docker and orchestrating them using Kubernetes; i.e. rapid deployment, scaling, and on the fly monitoring of containerized services. 4.] Monitoring and Alerting: To set up monitoring and alerting system to monitor system performance, detect anomalies, and ensure system reliability using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana etc. 5.] Configuration Management: Helps with storing infrastructure as code to handle configuration drift and to maintain consistency across environments, with key-value store Ansible being most popular configuration management tool. 6.] Cloud Infrastructure Management: Provide functionality to deploy and manage applications on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP — provision resources, cost optimization, etc. 7.] Collaboration and Documentation: Working with cross-functional teams to optimize the development workflows as well as documenting processes, configurations and troubleshooting methods for knowledge sharing. 8.] Security Practices – Explore security in an abstract nature, learn the best practices of security in Devops, and how to implement security walls such as access control, encryption, and vulnerability scanning. 9.] Continuous Learning — Attending Learn In sessions, training, mentorship to sharpen our technical skills and stay up-to-date on industry trends. 10.] Problem Solving and Troubleshooting: Help diagnose and fix technical issues, identify root cause analysis, and implement solutions to improve system reliability and performance. 11.] Best Practices: Using established DevOps practices and methods (i.e., Version Control, Code Review and Automated Testing etc. ) for high quality software delivery. 12.] Contributing to Projects — Contributing to team projects, engaging in discussions for proposing solutions to help in scaling a system, and making a system efficient and maintainable each time a project concludes.
