Job summary
Innovative Defense Technologies is seeking a Software DevOps Engineer to join their Warfare Systems team in Mount Laurel, NJ. The role involves architecting and refactoring legacy weapons system software, improving CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring compliance with security requirements while working in a multi-discipline team environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of full-time professional experience
- Experience in software development processes
- Experience with CI/CD concepts and tools
- Familiarity with containerization technologies
- Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles
- Basic scripting and programming skills
- Experience with Agile software development processes
- Proficiency working within a Git CM environment
- Ability to convert vague customer requirements into a refined vision
- Ability to work on-site with potential hybrid flexibility
- Familiarity with the software development process
- Ability to design, develop, and analyze software systems
- Understanding of Windows and Linux file systems
- Version control (Git)
- APIs (REST/gRPC)
- Modular code design
- Ability to review, critique, and harden AI-generated code
- Familiarity with SQL and relational databases
- Familiarity with computer networking and various networking protocols
Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines
- Integrate and operate automated security controls within pipelines
- Support and maintain core Software Factory tooling
- Develop and update Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Deploy, configure, and maintain containerized workloads
- Operate and support DevSecOps platforms within air-gapped classified environments
- Assist in enforcing compliance requirements through automation
- Investigate and resolve technical issues across CI/CD pipelines
- Gather developer feedback and identify opportunities to improve platform usability
- Collaborate with software engineers, security teams, and infrastructure teams
- Explore and prototype next-generation solutions using AI/ML
- Interact with customers to elicit requirements
- Present to organization leadership on project cost, schedule, and technical progress
- Software architecture development
- Assist in developing user, functional, and technical requirements
- Participate and provide feedback for design & code/peer reviews
- Integrate individual software components into complex software environments
- Support test and integration activities at IDT labs
- Ensure adherence to industry standards
