Job summary

Seeking a Scala Developer for a project in transport and logistics. The role involves developing and enhancing scalable software components within an event-driven microservice architecture using Scala 3, Protobuf, NATS JetStream, AWS EKS, and Kubernetes. This is a 100% remote position from Germany.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience deploying complex services on Kubernetes clusters in AWS
• Five years of experience with CI/CD tooling (Git/GitLab) and GitLab CI with Monorepo
• Five years of experience with the Protobuf framework
• Seven years of programming experience with Scala 3.8 and Typelevel-Stack (ZIO, Cats Effect, FS2)
• Five years of experience in software development, particularly with functional programming (e.g., ZIO, Cats, Effect, FS2, Aka Streams or comparable in productive backend systems)
• Five years of practical experience developing and operating event-driven backend systems with messaging/streaming technologies (e.g., NATS, Kafka) combined with functional programming
• Three years of practical experience developing traffic management systems in transport and rail or comparable complex real-time systems

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance scalable software components within an event-driven microservice architecture using Scala 3, Protobuf, NATS JetStream, AWS EKS, and Kubernetes
• Ensure code quality through testing, debugging, and code reviews
