Job summary

Bupa is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join their DevOps Support team. This role involves driving innovation, enhancing reusable pipelines, and providing infrastructure and cloud services using Terraform and automation. The engineer will also offer expert technical support, ensuring smooth operations and resolving incidents in line with agreed SLAs and OLAs.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in technology development and management with a focus on value and service
  • Strong technical background in managing, maintaining, and delivering IT services
  • Strong communication and influencing abilities to engage with senior stakeholders and suppliers
  • Ability to understand challenges and dependencies of peers
  • Experience managing and supporting web and API environments
  • Experience working with CDN and WAF technologies like Cloudflare and Akamai
  • Experience building, maintaining, and supporting High Availability Environments
  • Proven experience in a DevOps/SRE team or similar multi-skilled team in a technically demanding environment
  • Proficiency or familiarity with CI/CD tools, preferably Azure DevOps and/or Github
  • Competence in Azure, GCP, and multi-cloud disciplines, including cloud networking and security principles
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform, Terragrunt, Docker, Kubernetes, PowerShell, Python, or other scripting languages
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, or other database technologies
  • Knowledge and understanding of Content Management Systems (CMS), preferably Sitecore and/or Silverstripe

Responsibilities

  • Champion DevOps delivery
  • Own and enhance reusable pipelines
  • Work with delivery teams to provide infrastructure and cloud services using Terraform and automation
  • Provide expert technical support, resolving incidents and problems in line with SLAs and OLAs
  • Ensure smooth operations for code deployments and infrastructure rebuilds across environments
  • Act as a technical focal point during major incidents
  • Manage infrastructure on Azure, GCP, and AWS cloud platforms
  • Manage and support Web Application Firewall configuration
  • Improve security and remediate vulnerabilities across Cloud platforms, Web applications, and WAF technologies
  • Ensure cloud hosted infrastructure and services adhere to agreed SLA and OLAs
  • Manage tools and processes for CI/CD
  • Manage automation processes
  • Provide support services for system availability, reliability, and performance
  • Provide 2nd line application support including 'Fix on Fail', defect management, change requests, and proactive performance monitoring
