Job summary
Bupa is seeking a Data Platform Engineer to join their enterprise data platform team. This role involves building and operating cloud infrastructure that powers analytics, reporting, and data science across Bupa, with a focus on Azure and Snowflake. The ideal candidate will deepen their cloud engineering skills, contribute to automation and platform operations, and work in a highly regulated environment.
Qualifications
- Three or more years of experience in platform, cloud, or data platform engineering.
- Hands-on experience with key Azure data services such as Data Factory, Data Lake, Power BI/Fabric.
- Experience working with Snowflake or other relational cloud data platforms.
- Foundational to intermediate skills in Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform.
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Working knowledge of monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, or Application Insights.
- Scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automation tasks.
Responsibilities
- Support the design, build, and maintenance of core Azure and Snowflake data platform components.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform for repeatable and automated deployments.
- Build and run CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions.
- Contribute to platform monitoring, including logging, metrics, and alerting through observability tooling.
- Troubleshoot platform issues and escalate when appropriate.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and data teams to provision secure and performant environments.
- Contribute to documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying enhancements to automation, performance, and reliability.
