Cloud Solution Architect – Kubernetes & Platform Engineering (m/w/d)

Job summary

As a Cloud Solution Architect, you will design cloud-native architectures on Azure, lead projects, and bridge customer requirements with technical realities. Your role involves consulting, engineering, and enhancing developer experience while working closely with various teams to optimize delivery and operations.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience in designing and implementing Azure architectures, with proven time in a consulting or architectural role.
• Solid experience with Kubernetes, ideally AKS, and GitOps practices.
• Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code with Terraform or Bicep.
• Good understanding of cloud security, identity, network architecture, and governance.
• Development background combined with solid operations fundamentals.
• Experience with CI/CD in GitHub, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.
• Practical experience with Agentic DevOps and AI-based engineering/tooling.
• Ability to estimate efforts and scope projects accurately.
• Ability to explain technical contexts clearly to both development teams and management.
• Confident in customer interactions, structured in workshops, and proficient in documentation.
• Very good German and English language skills, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Design cloud-native architectures on Azure including Landing Zones, AKS platforms, GitOps operational models, and IaC strategies.
• Conceptualize Internal Developer Platforms and cloud-native AI platforms, continuously improving developer experience, security, and compliance.
• Develop target images, migration paths, and roadmaps, implementing them technically with the team.
• Lead projects and sub-projects, coordinating stakeholders and ensuring technical goal achievement without disciplinary responsibility.
• Integrate Agentic DevOps and AI-based tooling into delivery and operational processes in a clear, secure, and controllable manner.
• Progress towards Principal Architect or take on technical responsibility for a consulting focus.
